“Nothing can be crazier than topping popcorn with Strawberry Syrup”

Crazy ideas have always helped distinguish MUISS’s Chill with MUISS initiative. Light finger food paired with creative and simple games never fails to get attention. Monday of Week 2 is when students generally start to freak out, getting to know the units better and seeing how messed up the schedules are, Week 2 is right about when everyone realises what they signed up for. And popcorn is one excellent stress buster to munch on while watching the drama that university entails.
Around 3 PM, the Chill with MUISS booth was all set and ready in front of the library. With the friendly MUISS crew calling in the students to come and try the games, it gave a feeling of warmth and welcome. After the initial reluctance, students were curious to see what was happening there. They started to come in groups and watched their friends take a shot at the booth’s games.
“We are not exactly sure what this game is. We came up with it on our own. Since it’s a hit now, maybe I should try to get it patented” says MUISS Activities ISO. The simple nostalgic game of shooting paper bits using rubber bands was upgraded to shooting down paper cups through a target.
Students had to complete the game– which was quite challenging for some, to proceed to collect the popcorn topped with a ton of options to choose from. Strawberry syrup and chocolate sprinkles for those with a sweet tooth and, garlic powder, lime and pepper seasoning for a sour and tangy kick. While waiting in line for the game they were asked to complete the online survey for “shawarma in Monash “. Local students were also more than welcome to the booth.
